It's not to say that the Drummond Lady Trojan Softball Team doesn't try to win. They do.
But what these young ladies accomplish through their play is infinitely more important than the pencil marks on a scorecard.
Southwestern Montana Little League Roundup for May 18, 2018:
DRUMMOND - The Drummond Lady Trojans fell in their final home games of the 2018 season, losing to the Trojans of Troy 16-3 and 21-8.
MISSOULA – In every game they play, they play to win. But ultimately, the game itself is the reward for the Drummond Lady Trojans softball team.
In what one parent characterized as the ‘best game the team played all year’, Drummond fell to Loyola 9-3 in a game saw the locals play a solid game from start to finish.
Game Notes from this week's Little League Baseball Play:
BUTTE - It was a heartbreaking way to end a season, but the Drummond Lady Trojan Softball Team played it hard all the way to the end with class and hustle.
The blue and white fell to Huntley Project 14-0 in the opener Saturday before getting edged 3-2 in the finale against Browning.
EUREKA - The Drummond Softball Team dropped both ends of a doubleheader in Eureka Friday, losing the opener 13-1 and the nightcap 19-3.
Southwestern Montana Little League Update
FRENCHTOWN - It was a long time coming, but that made it all the sweeter.
The Drummond Lady Trojans earned their first win of the year Saturday in a game against the Indians of Browning 7-5. The game was part of a three-team triple header where each team played two games and included Dillon.
ST. IGNATIUS - A sixth-inning rally by the host Bulldogs lifted them past a strong hitting Drummond squad in the second game of a girls softball doubleheader Tuesday in St. Ignatius. Mission won the first game 15-0 and Thompson Falls the second, 13-11.
